An award-winning visitor and learning centre at The Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel Le Ferne, Folkestone.
Taking its inspiration from the iconic elliptical shape of the wings of a mark.1 Spitfire, ‘The Wing’ is a two-storey steel framed building with a circular core area and viewing platform at first floor level where visitors can look out over the English Channel where much of the battle took place.
The visitor centre boasts a state-of-the-art exhibition showcasing a range of audio-visual information and presentations about the battle.
Officially opened in March 2015 by Her Majesty The Queen, Woodley Coles are proud to have provided pre and post contract Quantity Surveying services in relation to this project.
